In todays society, we find more and more people believing and following his teachings. Some believe that God doesn’t exist and others believe in a “higher power” that’s not necesarily God.
There are people who believe in idols, such as astrology, Buddha or Muhammad. Some even worship material idols, such as homes, cars, career and the love of money. They don’t realize they are following Satan’s ways, but you can’t follow two masters. You must choose one.
Joshua says, “Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. (B)Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 (C)And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, (D)choose this day whom you will serve, whether (E)the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or (F)the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. (G)But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:14-15)
Spirituality or the lack thereof, have become some sort of a popularity contest. It boils down to God vs. Satan. Who will win in the end? I bet you can guess the answer… But in the meantime, here’s 5 reasons why Satan’s secret society is so popular today.
The secret society gives people a chance to believe in something else besides Christianity.
Occult followers can’t understand the absolute belief in good vs. evil. They want to believe in a gray area, so they won’t feel guilty when sinful mistakes are made. Members don’t believe there’s a God who forgives sin. They also want to believe that hypocrites are in the church and people worship man (pastor, bishop or pope) more than God.
But the mistake in this belief is that God is a God of second, third, fourth, etc. chances. God is the church. And He welcomes all to come. He knows you will make sinful mistakes because you are human. God also knows how great Satan is in deceiving you into believing his truth. The great point about God is, he doesn’t want you to be deceived. Jesus wants you all to live!
The lie Satan wants you to believe is that good vs. evil doesn’t exist. He wants you to believe in what you see and hear and not have faith in a higher power – or God who saves.
The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 ‚ “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
This scripture clearly tells us that our souls are at play. The war between good vs. evil is to compete for our souls in the end. God gave us the will to choose who we would serve. And when the Lord comes back again, Satan and his followers will be condemned to hell.
Society members who believe, feel a sense of belonging.
Secret society members usually are missing something from their families or lack thereof. They feel unloved, uncared for or abandoned. They feel that they just don’t fit in anywhere. However, Satan wants you to feel alone and believe that no one cares. He wants you to feel unloved and insecure, so he can plant these lies into your head.
He causes the turmoil in your family to occur. He creates constant pain in your life. You don’t seem to get along with family or friends. And you feel abandoned by your church, if you ever attended. Magically, a group of people come along that make you feel accepted!
Satan’s goal is to isolate you from your loved ones and the church, so he can work on your mind and trap you. He is the creator of confusion and depression. He wants to control you, so you will do his will and not God’s.
However, God is a God of love. If no one else loves you – God does. He loves you so much that he allowed his only son’s death, so you may live eternally with him.
For 1 John 4:9-10 says, “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” You are never alone in this world, because you can now belong to God! Amen
We are always curious about things we cannot see.
We want to create our own gods according to our own religion. The concept of believing in an invisible God is a far-fetched one for some people. If they can’t see it, feel it or touch it, it must not exist. So instead of believing in the one true God, whom you can’t see, their minds create gods that they can see or relate to.
Idol gods were created in the Bible on a constant basis. They didn’t want to worship a God that they couldn’t see. And because of this, Satan caused people to doubt God, which led to idol gods that they could see or believe in.
Baal was a popular false god, that the Canaanites believed and worshipped. He can refer to any god and even to humans as a substitute for Hadad. Hadad was a god of the rain, thunder, fertility and agriculture and the lord of Heaven. (Deuteronomy 4:2-4)
Now in our modern day..
People are still worshipping gods that are man-made. From Buddha, nature, saints in the church and even man, we still feel more comfortable praying to, bowing down and worshipping things or people that we can see.
However God, who is a spirit, says that idol worshipping is forbidden. Exodus 20:4 says, “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.”
Idols made by man are only images. They can’t breathe, talk or hear. Only the true God can do that. God says in Psalm 135:15-18 that, “the idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; they have ears, but cannot hear, or is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.”
Even though you cannot see God, he’s always there. God doesn’t always have to approach you in the bush, fire or the storm. He can come as a whisper in your ear, a smile on your face or just love in your heart…
Others have a desire to control you.
People who don’t have control over their own lives, feel a need to control you. They are angry at the world because their life is not going according to their plan. So they take it out on family and friends instead of looking deep inside at the bigger picture.
They are unhappy because they have a void in their lives. When you are successful and happy, they envy you because they want you to feel sad like they do. Jealously overtakes them and may even grow to hate you. Unfortunately, Satan has now found a way to enter.
He uses these feelings to control you. You may be trying to control others, but Satan is actually controlling you to be his puppet. Feelings of jealousy, envy and hate will destroy you and other’s lives.
Hate eats you up and can actually kill you physically and spiritually. It can also cause you to kill. But even if you don’t physically kill someone, just hating them is the same as killing them in God’s eyes. 1 John 3:15 says, “Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.”
God also tells us we will be hated, because of Him. He was hated, abused and rebuked by men. So we as Christians, who believe in Him, will be treated the same. For John 15:18-19 says, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”
Why the secret society of Satan is so popular
It’s simple. This society is so popular because God has allowed Satan to rule this world at the present time.
God has given Satan a certain amount of time to try and capture as many souls as he can. Because God allows us to choose between him and Satan, he has given Satan a chance to lie, deceive and tempt us away from God. Satan wants us to believe in ANYTHING besides God. He created idols, demons and occult beliefs to take our minds off of God and onto him.
Satan also want us to believe that we are gods and in complete control over our own lives. For Isaiah 47:10 says, “You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, ‘No one sees me.‛ Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me.”
How to put an end to the secret society of Satan for good
The only way to destroy Satan’s secret society is to love God first, then your neighbor. Your neighbor includes everyone that you come into contact with – friends, family, strangers and even your enemies.
It’s hard to imagine loving an enemy. But God commands us to do so, even when we don’t like it or understand why. Matthew 5:43-45 says, “You have heard that it was said, “Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you; Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.” And 1 John 4:20-21 also says, “If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.”
We all have heard the song, “What the world needs now, is love, sweet love. It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of.” It may sound corny or cliche, but it’s true. Love conquers all! The void in our hearts can only be replaced by God’s love. And true, unconditional love for one another will destroy Satan’s secret society for good!
