In my past experiences as a follower of Jesus Christ, I’ve learned over and over again that Satan’s job is to stop the Christian from spreading the good news of salvation.
In the journey of faith, we often encounter seasons where it feels like Satan is relentless in his attacks. Whether it’s through doubts, fears, temptations, or struggles, his presence can feel overwhelming and unyielding.
I’ve previously written two of my most popular blog posts to date, When Satan Just Won’t Leave You Alone and Depressed: When Satan Still Won’t Leave You Alone on this subject a few years ago.
As you know, Satan ain’t going nowhere soon, as he continues to wreak havoc in our lives. In this latest blog post on the subject, I’ll remind you of what to do when Satan won’t leave you alone, by finding peace in the midst of this “good vs. evil” spiritual warfare on earth.
Understanding Spiritual Warfare
Spiritual warfare is a reality that believers face, as described in Ephesians 6:12: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Satan and his demonic forces seek to undermine our faith, steal our joy, and hinder our relationship with God.
Identifying Satan’s Tactics
One of Satan’s primary tactics is deception. He seeks to distort the truth, plant seeds of doubt, and lead us away from God’s plan for our lives. He often targets our weaknesses, insecurities, and vulnerabilities, using them as entry points for his attacks. Additionally, he employs tactics such as temptation, discouragement, and division to weaken our resolve and undermine our faith.
Responding with Spiritual Weapons
In the face of Satan’s relentless attacks, we must arm ourselves with spiritual weapons to stand firm in our faith. These include prayer, Scripture, worship, and fellowship with other believers. Prayer is our direct line of communication with God, enabling us to seek His strength, wisdom, and protection.
Scripture serves as our weapon against Satan’s lies, providing truth, encouragement, and guidance. Worship lifts our eyes from our circumstances to the greatness of God, reminding us of His power and sovereignty. Fellowship with other believers provides support, accountability, and encouragement in the midst of spiritual battles.
Finding Peace in God’s Promises
In times of spiritual warfare, it’s essential to cling to God’s promises and truths. Scriptures such as James 4:7, which says, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you,” remind us of our power and authority in Christ.
We are called to submit to God, resist the devil, and trust in God’s faithfulness to deliver us from evil. Additionally, passages like Romans 8:38-39 assure us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, providing comfort and assurance in the midst of trials. You’ll soon start finding peace within yourself, even when chaos is all around.
Seeking Help and Support
If you find yourself struggling with persistent attacks from Satan, don’t hesitate to seek help and support from trusted spiritual mentors, counselors, or pastors. Sometimes, it’s helpful to have someone come alongside you to pray, provide guidance, and speak truth into your life.
Trust in God
When Satan won’t leave you alone, remember that you are not alone in your spiritual battles. God is always with you, and He has equipped you with spiritual weapons to stand firm against the enemy’s schemes.
By relying on prayer, Scripture, worship, and fellowship, and clinging to God’s promises, you start finding peace and victory in the midst of spiritual warfare. Trust in God’s power, and know that He is greater than any attack Satan may launch against you.
God is still good,
Wanda
