Title for This Bl
In Romans 10:15, it says: “And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”
This verse beautifully captures the essence of our mission as followers of Christ. It reminds us of the privilege and responsibility we have to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world.
Here’s Five Key Points for beautiful feet that celebrate the good news:
1. The Beauty of the Message
First, let’s reflect on the beauty of the message we carry. The Good News, the Gospel, is the message of God’s immense love for humanity. It is the story of Jesus Christ, who came to earth, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose again, conquering death. Through Him, we have the promise of eternal life.
When we think about beauty, we might think of a stunning landscape, a piece of art, or a touching piece of music. But in Romans 10:15, the beauty is found in the feet of those who bring the Good News. Why feet? Because feet represent movement, action, and the willingness to go. It’s not just about the message itself but also about the commitment and effort of those who carry it.
Isaiah 52:7 says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’”
By show of hands—has sharing the Good News transformed your life? I hope that your hands are raised, because if not, I was going to get a bit nervous! If so, let’s keep our feet moving, proclaiming our love for God.
2. The Responsibility of the Messenger
Being a messenger of the Good News carries significant responsibility. In the same chapter of Romans, Paul speaks about the necessity of preaching so that people may hear and believe. He asks, “How can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:14).
We live in a world that is in desperate need of hope, love, and truth. There are countless people who are searching for meaning, struggling with pain, and feeling lost. As messengers of the Good News, we have the responsibility to reach out to these individuals, to share the love of Christ, and to be the light in their darkness.
Think of a name of one person you know who needs to hear the Good News. Commit to praying for them and seek an opportunity to share the Gospel with them.
3. The Power of Our Testimony
One of the most effective ways to share the Good News is through our personal testimony. Each of us has a unique story of how God has worked in our lives. By sharing our experiences of God’s grace, mercy, and transformation, we can make the Gospel tangible and relatable to others.
Think about the times God has intervened in your life. Perhaps He provided comfort during a difficult time, guidance when you were lost, or forgiveness when you felt unworthy. These stories can be powerful tools in helping others see the reality of God’s love and power.
Think about a time when God intervened in your life. How can you share this testimony with others?
4. Overcoming Fear and Doubt
As we embark on this mission, it’s natural to feel fear and doubt. We might wonder if we are capable or worthy of such a task. We might fear rejection or failure. But let’s remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 28:20, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We are not alone in this mission. God is with us, guiding us, empowering us, and giving us the words to speak. When we step out in faith, trusting in His strength rather than our own, we can overcome any fear or doubt.
Is there something holding you back from sharing? What fear or doubt do you have today? If so, read or write a Bible verse that encourages you and reminds you of God’s presence and strength. Keep this as a reminder to trust in Him.
5. The Joy of the Messenger
Finally, let’s talk about the joy that comes with being a messenger of the Good News. There is a profound joy in seeing lives transformed. In witnessing to someone, they may come to Christ. And in knowing that, we have played a part in God’s redemptive plan. This joy is a glimpse of the eternal joy that awaits us in heaven.
In Luke 15:7, Jesus says, “I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” When we share the Good News and someone comes to faith, we participate in the joy of heaven.
When was the last time you experienced joy in sharing your faith or seeing someone come to Christ? How did it impact your own faith journey?
Have Beautiful Feet
I want to encourage each one of you to embrace your role as a messenger of the Good News. Remember the beauty of the message you carry, the responsibility you hold, the power of your testimony, and the joy that comes with sharing the Gospel.
John MacArthur wisely said, “A true shepherd leads the way. He does not merely point the way.” Our pastor and first lady have not only led us but have walked alongside us, guiding us through every season with unwavering faith and love. They embody what Charles Spurgeon said: “The motto of every missionary, whether preacher, printer, or schoolmaster, ought to be ‘Devoted for life.’“
No one is perfect but God. However, let’s all be inspired by Romans 10:15 and actively strive to have beautiful feet that bring the Good News to those around us. Let’s go forth with confidence, knowing that God is with us, and let’s make a difference in the world by sharing His love and truth.
Charles Spurgeon captured the essence of our mission perfectly when he said: “Every Christian is either a missionary or an impostor.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to stand in front of Jesus one day as an imposter!
Our lives must reflect the light of Jesus, much like lighthouses that don’t need to fire cannons to call attention to their shining—simply put – they just shine.
God bless you all.
