When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. – Matthew 2:10

Joy. Unspeakable joy. What does that really mean? Joy is defined as follows: the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; keen pleasure; elation. 

1 Peter 1:8 states, “Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.”

This text states a fact: believers in Jesus Christ may live lives of extreme joy. Not just being happy, but God says that you can live a life of unspeakable, inexpressible joy – a joy so incredible we cannot fully describe it.

It is not only God’s will that we be joyful, but He has made a way for us to find joy through Jesus Christ. We were made for this and designed to live a joyful life.

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. – Isaiah 51:11

Some may argue, “How do I remain joyful when my world seems to be falling apart?” God knows that you will not always have happy and joyful times on a continuous basis, but he also asks you to remain joyful through it all.  Just know that He’s working it out for your good!

In this four-week study, we are thanking God for his unspeakable joy in our lives! We will read, write and meditate on scripture that allows us to have joy in our hearts even when chaos and turmoil are all around!

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,” James 1:2

Even when it looks like we can’t make it, don’t worry because trials are only there to test our faith. So count it all joy, my brothers and sisters, knowing that Gods got your back!

Let’s allow the love, peace and joy of Jesus Christ to remain in our hearts and minds – verse by verse, word by word.
