Praise God that we finished Week 1 of Unspeakable Joy Bible Study & Journal!
This month of December, Christians celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We take time out of our busy schedules to spend time with family and friends giving gifts, enjoying a meal and thanking God that he gave his son’s life for our sins.
Before Jesus came, we would have never experienced joy or even knew what it truly meant. But because he did come, we now can experience this joy – unspeakable joy – even in turmoil, chaos and long-suffering.
But, how do you obtain this kind of joy when the world around you is so evil?
Simple. The closer you get to God, the more attainable it becomes. Once it happens, you’ll find yourself singing, “This joy that I have – the world didn’t give it to me. The world didn’t give it and the world can’t take it away!” Hallelujah
Let’s recap and enjoy our 1st week of Joy!
(Mon) Romans 15:13 – SOAP Romans 15:13
As we go about our daily lives, we have days were we feel that all hope is gone.
Satan has a way of trying to make us feel this way – as he is the God who steals, kills and destroys!
But Our Holy God above also has a way of filling our hearts with love, joy and peace when we are at our lowest. This peace is known to pass all understanding.
We couldn’t do it without faith and the Holy Spirit. I’m glad that God gives it to us just when we need it the most! Amen
(Tues) Psalms 16:11 – SOAP Psalms 16:11
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had days where I questioned why I was here? Asking God what my purpose was in life? You?
But as I’ve gotten closer to God – his will for my life started revealing itself in his word.
It may not be what I had in mind for myself. But God’s plan is awesome and full of joyful surprises each day!
Even when my planned day doesn’t go as planned, God still has a way of showing up.
I’m glad that we serve a God who turns lemons into lemonade on a regular basis!
(Wed) John 15:11 – SOAP John 15:11
As I write this, So. Cal. is experiencing another devastation of massive fires due to our Santa Ana wind conditions.
There has been thousands of acres burned and hundreds of homes lost during this holiday Christmas season. A time to celebrate family and the birth of Jesus Christ.
I personally can’t imagine losing everything I own or even a loved one in such a tragic way. But God still is ever-present inside our hearts.
He will give us joy no matter what the situation. It’s hard to understand the joy that can be felt unless you develop a close relationship with him.
And the closer you get to God the better your life will become even through tragic times.
So I’m praying for those who’ve lost everything on earth only to gain everything in Heaven!
You may never understand how you can remain joyful among ruins, but God knows best and will be there for you forever more. Amen

(Thurs) 1 John 1:3-4 – SOAP 1 John 1:3-4
Fellowship with each other as one body along with Jesus Christ is the only way to experience great joy!
If you want to reap these benefits – you must get to know your Lord and Savior on a one on one basis. Amen

(Fri) Psalm 37:4 – SOAP Psalm 37:4
Thanks be to God that I have a Father in Heaven who loves us so much that he gives us the deepest desires of our hearts
No, he doesn’t always give us what we want – but it’s always what we need. Praise God
