Based on the current state of this country, I felt the need to pray for this country. As you all are aware, this world is currently going through division, despair and uncontrollable anger. Some live in constant fear and have the attitude of “I need to get them – before they get me!”
Senseless killings between law enforcement and minority people are becoming a every day occurrence. We are also killing others and ourselves without much cause. Unfortunately, we have desensitized ourselves from it. We don’t seem to care as long as it doesn’t affect us directly.
We need God to come back into this world. We need God to hear and answer our prayers. We need to cry out to God asking for forgiveness for our sins that we have committed towards ourselves and others. We need to seek His voice.
Pray this prayer with me…
A Prayer For Our Country
Lord, we humbly come to you now asking for forgiveness of our sins.
We ask that you touch our hearts and allow us to feel your love, your peace and your hope.
We can’t control what happens to us Lord, but help to understand that we have control over our actions. We can choose to forgive. We can choose to love. We can choose to accept one another, even with our differences.
Help us to see each other as human beings – who breathe, hurt, work, love, support and bleed just as themselves.
Teach us to follow and look to you in everything we seek to do and say on a daily basis.
Help us to put others first before ourselves as we know that your word says it’s good to give, love, help, trust, than to receive.
Allow us to see you in your fullness with eyes and hearts wide open. Help us to learn to live without fear, restriction, stress, anxiety, depression and anything that is not of you Lord.
Allow us to feel confident in knowing that the next person that’s chosen to lead this country and all countries will be chosen by you to teach us, lead us and prayerfully guide us in your ways.
Help us to understand that if it’s not someone who we’ve chosen to lead this country – that everything still works for the good and glory of you Lord.
Be with us and stand by us today and forever.
