Praise God that we finished the 4th and final week of Transcribe The Word – Harvest Is Plenty Laborers Are Few
Paul – The Apostle – Bible Study and Journal
We studied Saul, later changed to Paul, a Jewish Rabbi who was looking to capture all of the fugitive Hellenistic Jewish Christians and return them to Jerusalem for trial. He was a true believer of God, but not of Christ his son.
As Paul travels to Damascus, he experiences the divine presence: a light from heaven flashing around him and a voice addressing him. His companions see the light, but Paul sees Christ himself. Paul was so afraid that he fell to his knees. He couldn’t believe the divine being that was standing before him.
Out of his confusion, Paul calls, Who are you, Lord? He receives a clear answer, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.” Jesus of Nazareth is risen from the dead!”
As Christ was speaking to him, Paul had to come to the realization that he may have been going against God all along. He helped kill Stephen, who was telling the truth when he bore witness to the Son of Man standing at God’s right hand (Acts 7:56). Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Savior, the Lord (9:20, 28).
Paul had to endure blindness for three days, while God spoke with Ananias, a Christian, in a dream. Despite his reputation, God told Ananias to meet Paul, who was blind and praying, to bring him to the church of other believers.
Obviously, Ananias was afraid but remained obedient unto the Lord. Laying hands on Paul, he declares that he has been sent by the Lord Jesus so that Paul may see again and be filled with the Spirit. And there the story of one of the most powerful disciples of Christ began.
Today we look at Paul, a true convert who was a self-centered believer of God who transitioned into a dependent believer of Jesus Christ. Just as God changed Paul’s life completely around, so will he do for you!
