When God Is My Rock and Stability…
Welcome to Transcribe The Word: God Is My Rock online bible study!
It’s hard to depend on others when we go through trials and tribulations in our lives. Our friends and love ones are not there for us in ways that’s needed. I’m glad that God tells us in his word that we can always depend on him as our Rock.
Daily scripture writing may be new to some of you. I found that this is one of the best, consistent ways to develop a daily challenge of reading and memorizing Gods word.
This month, take some time focusing on the gift that God has given us! Enjoy putting Gods word to paper in just 10-15 mins a day in this simple journal designed for busy Christians. You’ll soon see your dependability on God change for the better – verse by verse, word by word.
Challenges are great for those seeking to study a certain subject in the Bible. They are also great for new Christians who aren’t sure where or how to get started reading their Bible on a regular basis.
Here’s 3 tips to make this reading and writing challenge habit-forming:
- Determine the best time of your day to set aside 10-15 mins (or more) as scheduled time to spend with the Lord. If you do something at the same time everyday, it soon becomes a habit. Drinking coffee as soon as you rise in the morning, going to work, to the gym or watching your favorite TV show are all habits that you look forward to every day.
- Determine the best location to read Gods word. Some of you have a private room to read and some do not. I’m not an early riser and my days are pretty busy until I go to bed. I prefer to read Gods word on my lunch break. On my days off, I read wherever and whenever time allows. Carving a little bit of time out of your day, is all that God requires.
- Determine the best resource to read Gods word. Everything is technology based in today’s society. I’m grateful to God that He has allowed the bible to be read in app form (so we really have no excuse). I personally use You-Version on my smart phone in the English Standard Version. It’s truly the easiest way for me to read whenever or where ever I am. If this doesn’t work for you, feel free to use your favorite Bible of choice.
I also didn’t want to make this experience boring. Feel free to doodle, draw, mark up and write down questions in the journal margins as footnotes to investigate further or just to have fun!
We’ll start this challenge on September 1st (But feel free to start it now)!
At the end of this challenge, you will find peace and stability in our God! Gods written word will also remain in your heart as you learn to depend more and more on him and him alone.
Be ready to grab a cup of your favorite beverage, your bible, smart phone or tablet and read and write Gods word into our hearts and lives…
