Persistent Peaceful Prayer
Between You and God
Welcome to the Persistent Peaceful Prayer online bible study challenge! This month we will focus on daily scripture writing that speaks to being persistent in our daily talks and prayer with God.
Daily scripture writing may be new to some of you (it is for me). After extensive research, this is one of the best ways to develop a habit of reading, praying and memorizing Gods word.
I know in the hustle and bustle of our daily schedules, we find it hard to slow down and discuss our days with the Lord. We have difficulty remembering that He’s there longing to talk, walk and speak to us, whether good or bad, through His word.
We often miss out on the awesome opportunities to share our world with the one who knows us the best! So, let’s change it…
Take time to focus on becoming more persistent in prayer. You will put Gods word to paper in just 10-15 mins a day in your journal.
Topical Bible reading and writing plan challenges are great for those seeking to study a certain subject in the Bible. They are also great for new Christians who aren’t sure where or how to get started reading their Bible on a regular basis.
Here’s 3 tips to make this reading and writing plan challenge habit-forming:
- Determine the best time of your day to set aside 10-15 mins (or more) as scheduled time to spend with the Lord. If you do something at the same time everyday, it soon becomes a habit. Drinking coffee as soon as you rise in the morning, going to work, to the gym or watching your favorite TV show are all habits.
- Determine the best location to read Gods word. Some of you have a private room to read and some do not. I’m not an early riser and my days are pretty busy until I go to bed. I prefer to read Gods word on my lunch break. On my days off, I read whenever time allows. Carving a little bit of time out of your day, is all that God requires.
- Determine the best resource to read Gods word. In today’s world, everything is technology based. I’m grateful to God that He has allowed the bible to be read in app form (so we really have no excuse). I personally use You-Version on my smart phone in the English Standard Version. It’s truly the easiest way for me to read whenever or where ever I am. If this doesn’t work for you, feel free to use your favorite Bible of choice.
I also didn’t want to make this experience boring. Feel free to doodle, draw, mark up and write down questions in the journal margins as footnotes to investigate further or just to have fun! You’ll soon see your nonexistent or limited prayer life change – verse by verse, word by word.
At the end of this plan, you will find conversation with God easy and peaceful, like talking with your bestie. Gods written word will also remain in your heart as a shield against whatever life throws your way!
Ready? Let’s write…
